A blank page is intimidating. A worksheet is not. Circle today's weather. Draw one picture. Write a few lines. That's a day.

A dog the colour of toast followed us for
one whole block and then changed its mind.
I drew the cloud that looked like it was
laughing at something behind me.
One page is enough.
The page holds about four hundred characters of ruled lines — not a blank document. You will run out of room before you run out of time, and that is exactly why you will finish it.
One drawing, one title, one page — about two minutes, and the day is done.
Every other journal hands you an infinite text field and hopes you feel profound. This one hands you a worksheet.
Fifteen crayons, in box order.
Black, grey, brown, red, orange, apricot, yellow, lime, green, sky, blue, navy, violet, pink, white — the order they come in inside a real crayon box. Pick one and it lifts out of its slot.
The eraser does not sit among the crayons. It lies on its own shelf below them, because it is not one.
Draw on top of your photos.
Lay a photo down and crayon over it. Erase, and the photo shows through again instead of a hole.
Or cut just the dog out of a photo and keep it as a sticker. The cutting happens on your device; the photo goes nowhere.
A week of flowers.
Seven outlined crayon flowers, Sunday to Saturday. Write on a day and its flower fills with colour. Each flower is seeded from its own date, so the same day is always the same flower.
